The National Center for Education Statistics, which administers the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), released a research report earlier this year that endorses read-aloud accommodations for students with disabilities for examinations.

The Center determined that a teacher reading aloud a reading-comprehension test to a student with disabilities facilitates higher in scores in comprehension without altering what the test is trying to measure.
